Chinafy best practices for website revamps and change management

Syncing your Chinafy site is automatic. However, revamps require additional support due to the extent of updates to be implemented. 

Expecting a revamp? Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth process!

 

Before Revamp

Evaluate changes with Chinafy

1. Email [e-mail] to confirm the revamp launch date
2. (Apex site only) Lower your cache time
3. Pass us a staging domain/preview link to evaluate any new core features/components*
4. Use versioning parameters such as "file_20220801.pdf" or "file_2022.jpg" to help us better sync and manage the files that have been/will be copied on Chinafy on the revamped site

*Please keep in mind:

• Additional support might require expansion in our scope of work depending on your plan tier.
• Adding new domain/subdomain requires a separate plan to support initial set-up & configuration. 

After Revamp

Once launched, Chinafy scans and updates your site based on the cache headers on your site. 

There are additional also steps you may perform to facilitate the process:

1. Rescan your site via Chinafy Dashboard
2. Purge cache via Chinafy Dashboard 
3. Have your team check from China
4. Verify changes on Chinafy Preview: You can retrieve your Chinafy Preview from the Chinafy Dashboard. The Chinafy Preview allows you to view the HTML/CSS/JS that we deliver to visitors in China to validate changes, even if you’re viewing from outside of China.

Chinafy Enterprise Plan users may reach out to your account manager to request change management support. Change management includes ongoing content-based optimizations to the website, such as images, text, videos, functionality, architectural changes (i.e., hosting provider used). Note that Chinafy does not guarantee the ability to optimize functionality that is not initially evaluated in scope of work, such as new plugins added to the site. Fundamental changes in tools and infrastructure used will require additional evaluation and may incur additional set-up and related costs. Examples of such scenarios includes a full website revamp and or changes in the content management system on hand.
