What does the Chinafy Live Stream process involve?

So you've already subscribed to the Chinafy Pro+ Plan, and want to consider using the Chinafy Live Stream Add-On feature. This article assumes you already have, or are live-streaming via your website using a branded service, like Vimeo (or other), and describes the standard process to replace this with a fast, reliable, non-branded Live Stream on your Chinafy site.

Now read on to find out about our standard process to stream an event on your Chinafy site.

What to Expect...

1. Qualifying Questions: Every site is different, and so is every live stream event. Chinafy first asks you to answer the following questions so that we can prepare your Chinafy site accordingly. See the full list of questions here.
2. Initial Testing Phase (optional): You then have the option to test pushing a live stream from Vimeo to your Chinafy site (visitors in China) during an Initial Testing Phase prior to committing. More on the testing phase here.
3. Payment Processing:
   1. If you have already subscribed to the Chinafy Pro+/Enterprise Plan, a Chinafy representative will amend your subscription plan and then enable this feature for you.
   2. If you have not yet subscribed to your Chinafy Pro+/Enterprise Plan, you will be provided account details for you to enter the Chinafy dashboard and process payment for your plan & the Live stream add-on. 
4. Set-Up: Chinafy engineering will then configure your site and live stream settings based on the qualifying answers from step #1. 
5. 24 hours before the event:
   1. Chinafy will provide & confirm
      1. RTMP server destination
      2. Unique Stream Key
   2. You / the client will then send the stream via an encoder or forward via Vimeo - detailed guide here
   3. Depending on the hours required, the Chinafy team can be requested to be on standby. Additional costs will be required if these are outside of HKT of 10am-6pm. 
   4. Usage is settled at the end of each billing cycle.

Please note that on average, you will need ~1-2 weeks for this process end to end, and that standard support and or responses are provided during the general business hours 10am-7pm (Hong Kong Standard Time, GMT+8).

Optional Add-ons:

A) Accelerated Turnaround:

If you require a faster turnaround time, you may elect for an accelerated set-up period. 

• Standard: 1.5-2 weeks
• Accelerated 72 hours: 25% set-up fee*
• Accelerated 48-hours: 50% set-up fee*
• Accelerated 24- hours: 100% set-up fee*

*This is based on the Pro+ Plan. Arrangements may differ on a case-by-case basis (e.g. Enterprise)

B) Additional Support: 

If you'd like standby support, you may opt for additional support from at least one account & technical specialist

• $200/hr: business hours (10am-7pm HKT weekday)
• $500/hr: beyond business hours
